Beti Hai Anmol Scheme

The central and state governments have launched several schemes to promote the education of daughters. One such scheme has been initiated by the Himachal Pradesh government, called "Himachal Pradesh Beti Hai Anmol Yojana 2023". This scheme has been launched in line with the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao program of the central government. Under this scheme, financial aid will be provided to daughters of Himachal Pradesh to support their education. Upon the birth of a daughter, the state government will deposit a scholarship of ₹10,000 into her bank account or post office account. Additionally, daughters from class 1 to class 12 will be provided financial assistance ranging from ₹300 to ₹12000 for purchasing books and uniforms. If the daughter continues her studies beyond class 12 and enrolls in a graduation course, she will receive financial assistance of ₹5,000.

Benefits and Features of Beti Hai Anmol Yojana

• The Himachal Pradesh Beti Hai Anmol Yojana 2023 provides financial assistance to the daughters of Himachal Pradesh for their education.
• A scholarship of ₹10,000 will be deposited in the post office or bank account of the daughter at the time of her birth.
• Financial assistance ranging from ₹300 to ₹1,200 will be provided for books and uniforms from class I to class XII.
• After class 12th, the beneficiary will receive ₹5,000 in financial assistance.
• Only two daughters per family can avail benefits under this scheme.
• Applications can be made through both online and offline means.
• It is mandatory for the beneficiary to be below the poverty line to be eligible for the scheme.
• The scheme aims to promote education for daughters and change negative attitudes towards them.
• So far, ₹32.81 crore has been spent on this scheme, which has benefited 98193 beneficiaries.

Eligibility 

The eligibility criteria for availing benefits from the scheme are as follows:

• The candidate must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh.
• Only two girl children from each Below Poverty Line (BPL) family can apply.
• Girls born after July 5, 2010, are eligible to receive benefits from this scheme.
